Our Approach
The Movers & Shakespeares training approach is extremely unique as it combines the history and language of Shakespeare and his unparalleled ability to tell a great story with our knowledge on how to teach and run an effective organization.
After spending time over the telephone with our clients to understand the specific goals and training needs, we customize our sessions accordingly.
Our sessions incorporate a wide-array of training methods to ensure that no matter how each individual learns best, we have it covered. For each session, participants watch scenes from the best movie interpretations of Shakespeare's works. After setting up a particular scene, and then showing it on a large screen, we lead an interactive discussion to demonstrate how Shakespeare's lessons apply to a client's specific training goals. During these discussions we use props and automated presentations to drive home the teaching points.
After showing key scenes and conducting interactive discussions, participants form breakout groups. They relate particular "lessons learned" to the specific challenges faced in their own business unit. Members of each breakout group then report back to the whole group, leading a brief discussion of their conclusions.
Each participant writes down his or her "I learned" and "I will" pledge that details how each will alter some leadership practice to improve accountability and outcomes.
The session closes with a team-building exercise through a fun-filled skit, starring a select group of the day's seminar participants dressed in Elizabethan costumes. Participants read the funniest selections from Shakespeare's plays, ending the session with laughter and team bonding.
